What place(s) comes to your mind whenever someone mentions "romantic" places?
Many will think of Paris, one of the most expensive places on earth. While travel.1000savings.com have been there, we would say "yeah, Paris is romantic, but we seriously do think there're many other alternatives places which are much cheaper and filled with romance too!".

So, after travelling to many parts of the world, travel.1000savings.com would like to recommend you our Top 10 of the World's Most Romantic Travel Destination Alternatives, with all listed below (not in any order) :

1. Matshushima, Japan
Ranked one of the Top 3 Scenics of Japan (attributed to 1643 and scholar Hayashi Gahō), Matshushima definitely is a charming place. Quiet and serene, the views here are stunning with some 260 tiny islands.

Many Japanese poets got their inspiration while being at Matshushima, and there's even a story where a monk decided not to leave because of the scenes being too captivating!

Well, since those literati were enchanted with Matshushima, you can't be wrong to spend romantic moments there!

2. Florence, Italy
The birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, and the home of great lovers like Casanova, Romeo and Juliet, Italy is definitely a must visit country in Europe. While everyone will choose Venice and Rome over everywhere else, travel.1000savings.com begs to differ. Florence is our choice :)

Be sure to head over to Piazzale Michelangelo for a magnificent view of Florence, even at night! As with this picture on the right, you can be sure to spend a romantic time in Florence.

3. Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Český Krumlov is famous for its Old Town, with 300 protected medieval buildings, and its castle complex, the second largest in the Czech Republic. Being small with about only 14,000 residents, it is warm and nostalgic to whoever had been there.

4. Nice, France
Called Nice la Belle (Nissa La Bella in Niçard), which means Nice the Beautiful, you can't be wrong to find romantic moments here. Located on the south east coast of France on the Mediterranean Sea, Nice spots some most gorgeous beaches and lovely seaside promenade.

Take a leisurely stroll along The Promenade des Anglais in the evening, and seal it with a candle light dinner by the pedestrian promenade: that's what we call romantic touch!

Founded as a Roman city, Barcelona houses some of the world most unique buildings. The rambling streets, copious plazas and various options for good views make Barcelona a perfect setting if you're in the mood for love.
